Interaction Modalities for Augmented Reality Applications in Manufacturing

Augmented Reality (AR) applications are beginning to see rapid adaptation in the manufacturing sector. AR systems industry can assist operators simple tasks, such as virtual instructions, well complex remote assistance and maintenance tasks. There many ways interact with content, commonly known interaction modalities. These modalities classified into three categories: touch, touchless, wearable, or sometimes a combination of more than one modality multimodal interfaces. However, industry, there is no one-size-fits-all solution regarding content. Current research explores various input assesses advantages & disadvantages associated them context. We adopt both touch touchless our case study assembling planetary gear present merits demerits each assessing extent natural user Interaction wearable system not part this investigation.
